Hello all!

This is going to be my Nyos Opus 300 reef tank build thread. I’ve been in the hobby Couple years ago, started a tank had it running for 3 months but had to Sell the tank because of family circumstances. Im back At it again and started a Redsea reefer 170, while i was waiting for my Nyos to arrive it finally arived, after placing my order 6 months ago!
Its goung to be mainly lps and down the road ill add sps.
Here is what i got for equipments:

Ecotech Versa Four Pack VXF-1

Ecotech Radion XR15w Pro G5 2x

EcoTech Radion RMS XR15 Tank Mount 2x

Ecotech Vortech QuietDrive MP40wQD

Nemprotect Vortech MP40wQD Wavemaker Guard

EcoTech Vectra S2 Return Pump

D-D 300w Titanium Heater

D-D Dual Temp Controller

Nyos Quantum 120 Protein Skimmer

Nyos Torq Reactor Dock

Nyos TORQ 1.0 Litre Reactor Body

So first things first.
Im broke now! lol now that we got that out the way,
The Nyos Opus 300 came with beautiful dark blue back i cannot fault it, but i really like clear back it gives so much more depth and openness!
I have removed the paint and put a frosted film on the back glass.
But it was definitely not as easy as it sound! getting the paint off was an absolute nightmare they had different layers off lacquer on it. i tried every product nothing worked, then used hot water and a sharp glass scraper. when i first started i regretted it, as i thought this will never come off i ruined it! It literally took me 16 hours to get all the paint off, and had pain in my arms for 3 days after! but i would do it all over again because i absolutely love the results❤
I try to keep this thread updated as much as i can.

Nino my brother. Love the build. Very interested in the Opus 300. What is the stand made out of? Can you take close up picture of the material/paint of the stand. Thanks my brother.

Thanks Nino. Very nice set up my friend. Is the glass thickness of 10 mm okay do you feel it's too thin?
I honestly don't feel like its too thin at all because of the way they build it, it feels sturdy. Im extremely happy with this tank and the stand is gorgeous!

Like you, I also have a red sea 170 right now. I can't wait for the Opus to be available in the US.
I enjoyed this tank but i really didnt like that the stand was made of mdf and it looks like a fridge but the tank itself was nice! What do you think of it?

I like the dimensions of the tank and the sharp look, but I don’t like the sump and the plumbing. I upgraded the sump as attached before.

One potential down side I see to the Opus is the rigid layout of the sump and you may not be able to do a refugium...Maybe an external refugium
[/QUOT
True! The sump is definitely not nade for a refugium, ive seen somewhere online someone upgraded the sump to this
