I started a build thread for a 300 gallon peninsula in Oct of 2019 aaaaaaand...still no saltwater in the house.
After going back and forth on this idea, my wife and I finalized the plan to put a 40 breeder in the 5th baby’s nursery. Yah, five children. It gets better...the oldest is just barely 4. If I end up even half as good at maintaining this tank as I am at reproducing...
Anyways, I purchased the tank from a local store here in Omaha as well as the overflow which will arrive 6/7 then we all get to go through the tank drilling anxiety together! I have a friend of a friend who works at another store in town who is going to build my sump and help get all the plumbing done correctly. I’ve been out of the hobby for a little over 6 years and I need a bit of assistance on riding this bike again. I will try to update this initial post to keep it current but I will include some pictures of the space we plan to use as the nursery. Tank will be going up against the fireplace which we haven’t turned on in the year and a half we have lived here.

Current Equipment list:
Marineland 40 gallon breeder
Eshopps Prodigy L overflow box
Eshopps acrylic sump

I went to pick up my overflow as it had finally arrived at my local shop and happened to ask him before I got there if he had any pre-built subs that would work for my set up. He mentioned a couple and this wouldn’t happen to be absolutely perfect. Best part for me was the fact that he sold it to me for $100! Time to clean...

Does anybody know the exact Eshopps model for this thing?

A few pics from my attempt to unbox and read about this thing before getting interrupted by one of the children. The packaging was top notch.
It.is.beautiful! Might just mount it on the front of the tank to show this off! Lol

I had seen someone else use these and decided to follow suit. They definitely complicated the build and I’m not sure I would ever use them again but it worked out in the end.

So happy with every corner being no more than 1° off 90°.

Obviously it needs to hold more that 160lbs but I had to take my version of a Summit pic

I will start by saying that it turned out OK after an extra 30 minutes of research and prep work but ultimately the stencil that is provided with the overflow box is only minimally better than nothing at all. I do however greatly appreciate the included diamond hole bit. Luckily for YouTube I was able to confirm that the way I had thought up in my head would actually work and luckily, by approximately 1 or 2 mm, it did!
Here’s the link that helped me get past this nonsense;

Never been happier to see a circle of glass

Here’s the 2nd hole. You can see a piece at about the 2 o’clock position then a small lip from there down to the 6 o’clock position. Simply placed the bit back into the hole and very slowly drilled until it disappeared.

2 holes drilled!
Each hole took between 10-12 minutes a piece with absolutely no down pressure applied by me. This was all gravity from the drills weight. I stopped probably every 2 minutes, poured some water over top, then kept going.

TAKE YOUR TIME!

Got the base board on and placed the sump on. Tiny bit of room to the right for storage.
That will be all the progress for today. Time to get back to watching these 4 mini humans!

That stand is a beast you could probably stack two 40B’s on it.
I agree. Seems stands are always over built to give ourselves that sense of security lol. I actually left out one of the vertical supports from the plans I posted above to give myself a bit more space in the front.
