Still battling hair algae, believe nutrient levels above are inaccurate.

Had not 1 but 2 ( RIP Carpenter and Royal) wrasses jump out even with lid. Assuming the mean one had something to do with it.


Thinking about a possible upgrade in the future. Started to do a bit of research on 60*18 and 60*20 tanks.

Planning to order a good amount of bumblebee snails and prepare more DIY coral snow to try and tackle the Vermetid infestation. This is also one of the reasons for the possible upgrade.

I have done some mayor manual algae removal but still need to do more. Clear up the weir as the display water level was extremely high to the point it almost overflowed.

My VIP algae CuC consist of
2 urchin
1 turbo
1 sea hare (new addition)
~20 hermits
~50 snails (astrea, cerith, troches, bumblebee, nassarius)
100s of asterina (their population exploded)

Still full algae bloom since my month long away from the tank. I been manually removing some for the CUC to pick at the rest. Looks like I will need to remove another few cups…


The Halichoeres chrysus has been hiding. It was two days in a row and it was strange since it’s one of the first one to come out in the morning. When it finally came out I noticed my Tomini going after him.

The plan is to continue with the water changes and manually remove as much GHA.

Still fighting GHA, considered using Brightwell Razor but just need to get in there and put in the work. Managed to remove like 2 cups of algae last night. Prep some water, about to blow rocks and then do the water change and swap filter sock.

Some of these are growing nicely but eventually will need to cut due to shading.



The WD finally got 4 nubs growing but it's encroaching on the monti.

Thinking in a few weeks after various water changes, manual removal of GHA to order an ICP. I haven't done one in a while. Also sign up to the grow out events happening in R2R.

Morning reefers yesterday was delivery day for the contest frags. This was my first time ordering from Battlecorals so decided to get a Battle box with the contest frag. In total it was the 3 contests frag and I added 4 additional frags with the Box. They’re some really nice looking and sized frags. I realized I don’t have space to add all of them so will need to make changes to the tank/scape while the new one matures. I also got the SPS Tank Cofefe frag which is also amazing. Pictures below (some don’t do them justice).

The boxes, I knew right here that I wasn’t prepared. These are large boxes.

Overall, I’m extremely impressed and satisfied with @Battlecorals and will not hesitate to order again. His customer service, communication, packaging, and providing detailed info on the corals were outstanding. The only thing I didn’t saw was the toothbrush some report getting, lol.

Tank needs some tlc. Cleaned the front glass and manually remove a good amount of algae last night. Need to clean the side glass and remove more algae. Maybe a water change this weekend. Tank has potential but just a bit neglected.

I assume since the salinity was as high as 1.030 corals weren’t consuming alkalinity, at least that was my theory. I brought it slowly over the course of 2 weeks since nothing’s good happened quick in the hobby.

A semi local reefer posted a seahare that needed rehome. Reached out and meet him. Gave him a Tyree bonsai and red monti cap frags.




Been helping it out by manually removing some green hair algae


Forgot to turn off the skimmer and of course it overflowed. I was like what is this smell . Cleared the cup, added some carbon, and replaced about 2 gallons of sump water.


Either a conch or urchin move the frag rack that I had on the sandbed which unfortunately landed on top of a chalice. That chalice even keeps the hammer at bay. It has kill a few heads with the web.



The toll was another chalice and 1 head of the acan.
