I’ve had this octo a cpl weeks. Got it at a frag meet and it’s looked great till last night. Late afternoon yesterday it receded and looks like this… any idea/any hope for it?
I have other frogspawns and hammers and torches and quite a few other corals that all looked great yet

Not just receded, it looks to be a goner. Current parameters? Lighting? Also being on the sand can irritate them. The tissue from euphyllia should extend downward onto the skeleton. This has been going downhill for some time and probably went unnoticed.
 
Yeah, that’s toast. Something about your params it didn’t like would be my guess.
