Hi,
I have been waiting for about 10 years to build the tank I have always wanted and could afford. Finally the opportunity presented itself and I was able to build my dream tank...
I have had all kinds of tanks from fresh to salt and predator to reef. But this is the tank where I want to do it right. Display is 180 gallon Lifetime aquarium 60"x 30"x 24". I stripped down a old 125 gallon tank and resealed it for the maintenance tank. Put three partitions in and have a fudge above the display tank. All together it's around 280 gallons. Run a QT tank for fish and coral. Lights are a T5 and Kessil 360 mix.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

Wow you’re off to a great start! Keep us posted with lots of photos! :)

5 foot long x 30 inches front to back and 2 foot high.

Thanks. I now see where you mentioned that in your post...clearly I need to learn how to read.

I set it up with an Apex controller and two power bars. My first controller on my aquarium ever... use to use buckets and sticks ;Blackeye. Running 4 Kessil 360's and 4 T5 bulbs (2 ATI Blue plus and 2 Aquablue special) Return pump is a VaruoS 8 , skimmer Octo Regal 200 Int, carbon, GFO, 2 forty gallon fudges ... one for chatomorpha and one for calirpura and how ever many different types of macro I can cram in there. Lights on one fudge are 2 Kessil H80's and the other is 2 Amazon grow bulbs. Will see which does a better job. Display 2 MP 40's and a 250 Gyre on opposite sides. Will have fun with the apex and the display pumps. Tunes ATO ... now I am broke :p

4 fish in the QT tank ... lightning Clown (a bully) ocellaris clown, purple firefish and a orchard dottyback.Funny thing is the only aggression so far the lightning shows is towards the ocellaris. It's totally cool with the firefish and the dottyback.

A lightning clown ... LFS is moving and I got a great price on it that I could not pass on.

The tanks settled in nicely and got my first shipment of corals last week from tidal gardens. My fish are currently two lightning clowns, a tank bred orchid dotty-back, powder brown tang, sail fin tang, lawnmower blenny, purple fire fish and a cleaner shrimp.
