Are there any online retailers that aren't super expensive?
Who is your go to for online buying?

I will eventually get to purchase from local hobbyists but for now it's a couple hours drive one way for me and I don't currently have the time to always be able to to set up a meet. I'm not too keen on "designer" corals unless they're really neat and a decent price.

You have to factor in shipping costs when determining what is or isn't super expensive. I think WWC has reasonable pricing and excellent quality.

I really like AquaSD, unbelievably good deals during their flash sales and very good customer service in my experience. Shipping is only $30 too. Photos can definitely be exaggerated representations of frag sizes/colors, but I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by what I’ve received from them. They usually include a freebie too which is nice. For the affordability, I don’t think they can be beat

I buy 99% of my livestock from other hobbyists. Over the years I've found that I not only get better deals, but you will typically get nicer/healthier corals as well (typically cleaner, too). The vast majority of my livestock have come from the classifieds right here on r2r. :)

Honestly, a lot of the vendors we sponsor here are great! I've gotten coral from @TopShelfAquatics before and would highly recommend them!

I'm glad you like them. My experience was terrible.
Gaping clam dead 24hrs. They did send a free aiptasia :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

EDIT they also failed to send a clam and they thought they were going to keep my $100 and make me buy something else. That didn't fly.

I’ve been doing a little waste of money exercise where I try out new vendors and see what they send me. Two of the most recent (advertising on here) were completely unsatisfactory with their performance. This may be coincidental but in general ordering from an online shop is a gamble that is best made with long established suppliers.

But these people have employees and what they send you,…….

I recommend getting stuff in fairer weather and support your LFS if you want to know what you are going to get in the box.

Check out SBB during a sale. Everything on website is marked down and we get a coupon code that can be stacked on the sale for an extra 35-45% off

Absolute best customer service policy from any vendor also

I’ve ordered from saltwaterfish.com several times and been very satisfied. Their CS is top notch. I’ve gotten some great stuff from a couple sellers on eBay, but also a couple on there that were not ok. And I ordered from a member on here that was probably the healthiest and best packaging I’ve gotten anywhere.
