hi guys

planning my new setup and one of my options is elos, i love the look of the elos mini and midi, but the skimmer it comes with the ns, ive heard they are prone to microbubbles and not to hot and the sump area is a tight fit

the elite xp looks great, but is the light quality any good? looks a bit white and if u add a espot xl for more blues... £$£$

thanks in advance

Hey, Sandy. I have an Elos Midi, and I absolutely love it. They are a bit pricey, but the quality and craftsmanship is unparalelled. I would get the midi if I were you, as the mini is just so small.

The NS-100 skimmer that comes with the midi does a great job, although it is finicky and requires frequent adjustment to keep it working optimally. If I was buying mine over agian, then I would definitely go for the skimmer upgrade.

As far as lights go, the XP is okay. I have the Aquatop with two whites e-stripes and two blue e-stripes. This produces quite a lot of light, and the fixture looks very clean and seamless.

agree, best looking tanks out there, problem is over here there only sold by one supplier and are sold as "complete setups" inc the e-lite standard or e-lite xp
cant get the aquatop unit over here, just getting maxspect and orphek etc so theres not much feedback about longterm success/failiure with led units
will look into the ns skimmer upgrade

thanks for the reply Sandy
