Hello all, so I’m thinking about purchasing a captive bred goldflake angelfish, and was wondering if it will live or not. The fish to chose from are about 2.5 inches( I’ll post pictures) does anyone have experience or know if these will survive? I would keep it in a 20 gallon quarantine with a pair of non aggressive healthy clowns for 2-3 months where I can watch it, feed it, and grow it. It will then go into a 180. If you do think I should purchase one, which one looks best?

I don’t want to put them out there in case the experience goes bad, when I decide to get the fish or not and when it gets to my house and looks good I’ll drop the website.

I think the question was more like "Are the BIOTA captive bred fish"... Who is the source of the fish, not the LFS

I was just curious who raised the fish ? Not looking to make a negative experience

I meant my experience with the store in case the fish dies, I didn’t want thier to be a thread about some place that sells dying fish

just keep in mine unless your LFS keeps the CB fish is a completely separate system from all other fish you would need to QT it.

CB fish often ( as you know )come in quite small but 2.5" is not that bad some are under 1"
but yes you will need to grow out that fish before adding to the large tank.
maybe 2 months maybe 6 + IDK I dont know how fast they grow.

they are gorgeous fish!
