the temps in my 2 tanks pretty much stay at 78 degrees. I rarely drop a heater in one. I keep my home temps at 78 degree's also. In summer it can get very hot the smaller tank can reach 80 so I place a fan pointing into the sump area .

Remember ambient room temp will effect your tank also!Hey reefers,
I’m cycling my tank for almost a week now and I’m planning to keep clownfish a few inverts, some other fish (suggestions welcome) and easy corals. What is the best temperature?
I live in the Netherlands it’s only a few days per year to hot. Not really needing a AC.
Is a piece of equipment possibly running hot? A pump or something? The temperature shows up 89 here (Indian summer) and turbo snails have been dying. My BTA is also in a bad shape. Unfortunately I don't have a chiller and I tried many ways to bring it down by using fans, air stones, ice cubes, removing the lid off etc but nothing worked. Is there any alternative method? Mine is not a reef tank, currently I have only couple of fishes damsel & watchman goby and a sand sifting starfish, all are healthy and fine. How to save the rest of the crew??
I have two pumps in my sump but nothing gets overheated when I checked. Checked the wave makers too. Blame it on the hot summer here.Is a piece of equipment possibly running hot? A pump or something?
