Having the same issue trying to talk with Luca at Quanta. No reply. Has me looking at alternatives to the quanta helix bars now. I dont want to buy from someone I cant get support from or communicate with. Kessil and reefbreeders actually get back to me. Orphek and quanta dont seem to check their inboxes or worry about potential customers. 🤷‍♂️

That’s strange…I’ve never had Luca take longer than 4 hours to reply. His customer service is top notch! Maybe he’s on vacation or something? No reply within hours is very odd for him.

Could be on vacation, true. I reached out to him Thursday and am waiting for a response. Already have the lights waiting in the cart. Just had a couple questions for him before I purchase to make sure I get what I need.

I know he had a huge storm come through recently and a tornado touched down very close to him. I would be patient, Quanta's are so much better than the other bars out there and are worth the wait. As someone who owned Orpheks in the past, I wouldn't buy any other bar other than Quanta. The spectrum and blending are second to none.

Wow, hope everything is alright for him. Tornados are no fun. Do the quanta bars punch down a decent depth in tall tanks? Mine is 30" tall.

I know the orpheks have a 70° lense that helps with this which is what had me looking at them initially. Ive been waiting weeks to hear back from orphek though and at this point I likely wont buy their lights even if they get back to me. I hear great things about quanta though all the time.

I am also setting up a hydros collective and if I understand correctly the helix bars are compatible with it, Im just not sure if I need adapters or links to make it work together or not.

My main lighting will be 6x kessil a360xe lights on articulating mounts in 2 rows of 3 angled in with 55° lenses to create a stadium lighting array around the scape. I am looking at placing one 71" helix meso blue on each long side of my 405 gallon peninsula with 2x 71" reef crest bars between the kessil rows. I will angle the bars in an arch from long side to long side to help with wrap around light.

The bars are for fill and to reduce shadows since I cant find T5 fixtures anymore. I will use an apogee meter to dial it all in. I hope these will do as well for the same purpose. I like shallow reef lighting but enjoy color pop like anyone else. I figured this combo on the bars would likely deliver this look. I was always a fan of 14k halides with 50/50 pcs.

They come with a 2-wire pigtail for 0-10v control. That is what will wire into your hydros.
They should punch down 30" just fine, i don't remember the lens angle of hand, but the quad-core leds are pretty powerful.

Luca got back to me today. The Quantas sound perfect. As it turns out Champion lighting managaed to get my t5 fixtures! I will be using my T5s first and when its time for the swap quanta will get my business.
