I have been in contact with Orphek since Feb. 7 with general inquiries about which light would work for my tank, and it is painful. Each reply is taking 2-4 days. I would have bought the light right away if they were faster with support. Now I am researching other brands. I just sent an inquiry to Quanta, so if they reply fast, they are probably getting my business.

Following up, I ended up ordering multiple Helixes for two tanks. They look great and are giving me the par/spread I was looking for.

I replaced one of my OR3 bars with one of Lucas helix bars. The time to determine durability of the lights isn’t there yet. We’ll all know in the next handful of years how they hold up. For now, I have no issues recommending people go out and fund his retirement and buy all his lights.

SugarCube has reefi duo and 2 meso blue helix
Pianos has 3 G4Pro w 2 60 inch meso blue helix

Really loving the colors. Both my main lights can be very white and this extra blue and violet adds missing spectrum

The orpheks are fairly narrow and semi directional. No light spill issues at all.

My helix is under a canopy, so i have no spill issues regardless. They do have a bit wider lens angle though and as such will cover more, but will need to either be angled inward a touch if they are mounted on the edge (what i did) or mounted a little more towards the center (like a 2-3 inches depending on mounting height).

I use two (pro) meso blues on either side of my atlas that are angled in, so light spill isn’t that much.

Having the same issue trying to talk with Luca at Quanta. No reply. Has me looking at alternatives to the quanta helix bars now. I dont want to buy from someone I cant get support from or communicate with. Kessil and reefbreeders actually get back to me. Orphek and quanta dont seem to check their inboxes or worry about potential customers.

I ordered some knockoff Orpheks on Alibaba. Besides the time difference, they were very responsive, answered my few questions and everything arrived well. For the cost to performance ratio, I'd recommend them. If i was feeling spendy, I'd go with the Quanta though.
