Here is one I bought the original frag from Boom Corals 6/2/2020. Daylight about 12000K and blue LED pics.

What does everyone think about this? Pearlberry or something different? I also purchase a Pearlberry from Boomcorals… I can post up a picture later for comparison but similar looking growth structure to this.

And now we all understand one of the major weaknesses or wrongs of our hobby. When no one knows what a real ORA pearlberry or otherwise made up coral name is, or is not...

That is not ORA Pearlberry. Sorry.
Bummer. I bought mine from Boom last January and it’s been looking good lately. For what it’s worth the picture on @BoomCorals website does look closer to Ora Pearlberry than coral euphoria’s picture. Bummer to hear I don’t have the real deal if true.

I would give that one a chance and take a look once it grows out. It has promise. When Matt was at Boom Corals, I sent him some real ORA PB that I got off of their frag plug... so I know that they had some at one time. That was many years ago.

The one in that picture is 100% a pearlberry but the other big colony honestly looks more like the microladus by mistake. On the micro the coralites are very dense and are more uniform and pointy. Where as the pearlbery coralites aren’t as dense, rounded or a softer look and the leading growth looks less spear like. I think when they were frags they got mixed up in sending them out by accident.

Interesting. I agree the one in that picture does look like the Pearlberry. The one I recieved looks closer to Coral Euphorias photo.. I don’t think I have any good pictures on me currently but can get a better picture later tonight.

I’ve been under the impression this was the ORA Pearlberry, could be wrong tho.

Beautiful! I knew my picture was bad before I posted it, but it looks a lot worse on here than it does on my phone. Shucks. But this picture reassures me that mine is the real deal too. Thanks for sharing!

So here’s a few pictures of my ORA Pearlberry purchased from Boomcorals in January of 2021. What do you guys think? I will admit they aren’t great photographs and I’m sure it’s not colored up to it’s full potential in my tank (yet!), but at least something to glance at.

That looks just like the one I have.

Interesting that earlier in this thread, Boom (the original owner) said he got his from TSA. The picture on the site looks like the real deal. But our colonies look nothing like that pic on the website. So I'm assuming the new owner of @BoomCorals has a different piece and didn't change the picture.

Agreed on it looking like yours. And also completely agreed with your assessment, the picture on the website does look just like the real deal, especially with the thinner/less dense growth form and white coloration between corallites; up until this point I figured as the colony matured it may look closer towards the picture on the site, but after seeing your colony which is much larger, it seems like this is the final form. Strange!

Yeah that is what I'm about to name it on my site.
Boomberry is a different acro sold by Boom, which I also have, and it looks similar, but different colors. Side by side they are definitely different.. Here’s a crappy blue top down pic of my Boomberry colony.. can snap a better picture later.

Mine is from TSA and was labeled as ORA PearlBerry. It’s been dormant for like a year so I don’t have much to contribute lol.

Cultivated reef in Maine. They work directly with ORA. Currently on crazy sale. Some of the nicest and cleanest frags I have ever gotten.

No kidding really 15.00? The hairy green monster and rainbow stylo from them are charging along. Good folks
