Like most living creatures, coral and fish need a dark period to rest. According to research corals must receive a period of darkness to achieve an optimal coral growth coloration and health.
Ordinary dim systems offer you a 1% to 100% dim range. This is appropriated for day time, but not for night time.
WHAT ABOUT ONE BLUE LED FOR MOON CYCLE?
For starters, the Moon spectrum is not blue. It reflects visible light emitted by the sun, so it is a full spectrum.
Second, the 1 – 100% dim range of one blue LED only for night and moon cycles is not suitable, because this single LED still creates photosynthetic activity.
During a Moon Cycle, for each phase of the Moon, this one LED start progressively to increase its PAR – First day – 1%, second day – 2%… and on the 15th day, at full moon, it will reach a peak of 15%.
It means that these corals in captive environments will continuously be in photosynthetic activity, generating residual energy inside of them. These new LEDs look sick! A reason I would want these would be to supply my new build I am about to do. Innovative Marine EXT 112 and all I have right now is a AI Prime 16 that goes along with my old BioCube. I am currently in College and it is hard to really get anything I need without breaking the entire bank! These look insane and hopefully I can get my hands on one of these for my new build!!! Keep up the good work!

I plan on moving cities to be a nurse back in my home city. I will be doing new tank builds! The possibilities really are endless with your lights. Do we really need to get me chasing gobies down a goby holes. Probably ? The tank design will depend in the rooms.

WOW this would be an awesome new addition to my tank, the clean look and high quality lighting would look beautiful.
I just received mine last week and have it installed. I am only running two bars now, but it definitely increases the lighting, in addition to existing Radion XR 16 blues. But it would be awesome to be able to run six OR 120s for max coverage (and lighting flexibility). I definitely like the color on the Orphek better than Radions (maybe I just haven’t found the right setting on radions). I have a smaller orphek combined with an a360x on QT/Frag tank and colors are a lot more pleasing. Still working out kinks with scheduling and how the app works but pretty cool. Some feedback on the time selection on the app, it’s a little difficult for precise timing with fat fingers. And maybe a few more settings for acclimation ( ramp up and number of days).

I would love to be a winner to upgrade my system and really see the benefit's that this system could have on what I call my baby reef tank. I'm a newbie to corals, but have been in salt-water aquarium hobby for sometime now.
