Over your reefing hobby roughly how much $$$ have you LOST in fish and coral?

Tank has been up for less than 2 years and I don't buy expensive livestock, so I am in the $251-500 range. I think.

Just recently passed one year, about 250$. Cleaned my purigen but did not get all the bleach off and killed so much stuff

Been in the hobby keeping mostly SPS since 2005. Intentionally let my display SPS die two summers ago in a controlled crash. Probably lost 3K retail that summer alone. Made it real easy to swap tanks with only a few corals.

I’m probably looking at about 700-1000$ worth of loss. Been in hobby for a little over 2 years. Tank had a rough time moving from apartment to new home. Plus other hiccups prior to my current system.

But truth be told since I started 16 yrs ago... Those first years were tough, but I honestly think that through propagation, breeding the clowns and having an unintended bta farm I mitigated my overall losses and may be comfortably in the black on this one
Also, tell the hubs it’s cabbage boiled in hot dog water for dinner [emoji48]
