Seeking advice for the best course of action in an overfeeding incident...

The lid fell off of my auto-feeder this evening during maintenance and spilled copious amounts of pellet food into the display. After the initial feeding frenzy that ensued, the remaining food settled to the bottom and into the nooks and crannies.

I grabbed my hose and siphoned as much into a filter sock as possible then removed the sock from the system and cleaned it.

My question now is, what do I watch for/what do I do over the next few days to mitigate the damage.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. :squigglemouth:

Depends on the size of your tank. Just watch your parameters and maybe a water change in a couple of days.

You will probably be okay but several small water changes may be needed. If you have a good filtration system you should be okay.
You might want to be stingy about feeding for a couple days .

Honestly that's why I only put a few weeks worth of food in my feeder. 1. To prevent what happened to you and 2. To keep it fresh.

I would just do a couple good water changes and you'll be good. Maybe skim wet.
