Yeah… salt creep is the most common leak plugger in this hobby! Things tend to start leaking when you clean them up!

Next time tie a string to a bag and suck it through the pipe from the far end, it will seal the pipe and maintain suction along the way. The string is for retrieval if the bag stops moving.

One last question. If I do want to get a new bulkhead for backup so I have it how do I know what size. I know they say to measure the tank hole but with a running system I can’t do that. Would I do it based off the pipe. Just trying to figure out what size bulkhead to order. Thanks!
You are correct, the glass hole diameter will be the most precise way to size a replacement bulkhead!
You can indeed get very close by measuring based off the diameter of the bulkhead body’s threads though! — Calipers are typically the best way to get this done…
Your current bulkhead is schedule 80, so that would be an ideal replacement… — Just be very careful to look for listed dimensions!
