You can also cut a piece or two of pvc pipe the correct height to fit under the drain pipe snuggly, at least until you get a more permanent support in place.

Do you still have the broken off tooth or teeth?

If so, you can either silicone them back on, or more permanently solvent weld them back on with one of several Weldon brand or similar acrylic solvent welding products!

Otherwise, new teeth can be made!

Yes I have a mesh guard covering currently. I ordered a black acrylic sheet and was planning on cutting pieces to attach to the broken spots. I was going to get the Weldon stuff but they don’t sell it anywhere near me and online it take a few days and I don’t want to wait. So you think silicone will work well and they won’t break off again with the water running through?

They shouldn’t break off without some substantial force once siliconed down! If they do; you can just re-apply silicone! — use 100% silicone sealant with no additives!

This is a good alternative too! Super glue is more brittle, but can always be re-applied if there are any troubles!

I was going to get the Weldon stuff but they don’t sell it anywhere near me and online it take a few days and I don’t want to wait.

Ok good to know thanks! I think for today and to get the tank running I’ll do silicone or super glue and then later on in a few weeks shut the tank down for a day to do the weld on

Tanks up and running no leaks from any new plumbing however found a small leak in one of the gray pipes where the elbow meets a straight pipe. Any quick fix for this to patch it up?

hmm… this is the pressurized side of the plumbing, so a patch on a leaky joint is a bit of a questionable venture…

You could probably try using a bit more pipe cement in the leaky spot with the line depressurized to seal the leak, but that’ll be a 50/50 chance of working at best…

Best bet here is typically to cut out and redo the badly cemented joint!

Gotcha. I jumped the gun and used marine epoxy putty and it stopped. I think it wasn’t leaking previously because the salt creep stopped it but I cleaned the salt around everything and it started again.
