What’s the best overflow box for an aquarium with the least amount of maintenance?

what aquarium size? Do you mean for a drilled tank, or a hang on back overflow (I strong recommend drilling when feasible)

It’s 125 gallon , not drilled. Never had one

if the glass is not tempered, I strongly recommend you drill for an overflow. Then you don't have to worry about the siphon failing like it could on a hang on back overflow, which could lead to your return pump overflowing the display.

Do these overflow boxes up a huge amount of space and 125 gallon aquarium I’ve never seen one personally. I’m worried I’m buying a big aquarium just to have it filled with two overflow boxes and have just as much space as I did before.

Two eshopps (pf800 IIRC) hob overflows on this 180g tank for 6 years. You can see them in the upper corners. Never lost syphon even when shutting return pump off. I would drill the tank if that is an option. The hobs worked well but I could never get them as quite as I would have liked.

Nice tank! I’ve tried to find somebody to pay to drill it. There is nobody in my area. SOOOO, I bought a tank with two overflows in it. I’m hoping I like it.

My hob overflows worked fine they we just louder than I would have liked but I got used to the noise.
Drilling isn't really hard just have to go slow and keep the drill wet. Probably some videos showing how. I drilled one and it went so well I bought some small drills and made holes in some wine bottles for my Gal so she could put lights inside for her one of her crafts. Most important is to verify the glass isn't tempered.
