Hey all!

I picked up this 24" cube lightly used from a local reefer about a year ago. I am in the process of trying to decide on a return pump as I am in the planning/equipment gathering phase of the build. Anyone have any idea on who the manufacturer might be of the box and an appropriate flow rate to run through it? Im thinking 1500-1800 gph, but just want to see if anyone thinks I am way off with that number. Plan on running a bean animal style overflow. 1- 1" full siphon, 1-1" partial durso, and 1-1" full open emergency drain.

That seems high for an approximately 50 gallon tank.
I am just trying to figure out the max it is rated to handle. Maybe the better question might be how much flow should I run through it for a mixed reef? I will be running a trigger sapphire 20C sump with a Bubble Magus Curve 5 Elite skimmer.

Gauge it by 1” full, the 2nd one will just trickle and the 3rd is emergency. I think 1” is 600gph

So maybe around 1000 gph for my return?

Thinking maybe a Jabeo DCW-6000. It is rated at 1600 gph max. Would give me the ability to run a manifold to add various reactors if necessary and could just dial it back in the mean time to match the needs of just the overflow.

Or could step down to the 3500. Which is rated about 900 gph.

Either would be fine (larger then dialed back is better and will be quieter). Usually the rate is with 0 head pressure and it diminishes quickly so consider the height (90 degree turns also play into head pressure). There should be a chart on the pump info that shows what your final gph should close to.
