So it's September already, time for another video update! To catch up: I have replaced the entire right side of the reef by two open Reef Pillars, that I have connected to each other (with a huge Turbinaria) and the left part (with a RockZolid reef branch). The flow seems much better overall with the new setup, and the fish are happy too!

Hello all!

So, after a year of learning and trying, I'm finally confident enough to share my tank on R2R :)
In July last year I started my current tank, with live rock and natural seawater. Currently I'm using a mixture of the Balling Classic method with added trace elements and a 15% water change each month. For now this gives me a optimal mixture between stability and replenishing the water regularly. For technique, I'm using the following equipment:

Tank: 138cm x 64cm x 50cm see-through tank (approx. 450L incl. sump)
Skimmer: Deltec SC 1455 skimmer
Pumps: Jebao DCT-8000 (8.000 L/h) return and 2x Jebao RW-15 (15.000 L/h)
Lighting: 2x54W ATI T5 | 2x Maxspect Razor 120W 10.000K | 2x54W ATI T5

I try to keep a mixed reef, whereas I really like LPS corals for their ever-changing appearance, but I'm also fond of special acropora and other SPS species with their brilliant coloring.

I'll post a picture and video of my tank below in this first post, if you have any questions or useful tips please feel free to comment! I'll try to update this thread regularly with pictures and developments.

Beautifully manicured. Love the colors.

Thanks a lot, that was my old tank which I still miss, really...

Another update; I have decided to maintain a Facebook page on which I will share my tank updates, both the video updates on YouTube as well as Instagram updates on a regular basis. Please like the page if you are interested! https://www.facebook.com/dutchreefer/

Wow...gorgeous tank!

When did you switch to the Aurora? Are you still running the same bulbs?

Hmm I used the Matrixx for about 2 months but couldn't get used to the "still" image it creates. I switched to the Aurora in March/April and I really enjoy it still, combining the shinyness of the marine/royal blue LED's and the relatively white (2x ATI Coral Plus and 2x Giesemann Aquablue Coral) T5's.

Here's some bonus shots!
