Pajama cardinal pair

Anyone have luck with keeping pairs of pajama cardinals at a time? Or is it better to have them either solo or in large groups?

Ive had them in pairs multiple times. I feel like they do better in pairs but a solo one would be fine.

I have a pair in a 20 gallon nano tank. The big one chases the smaller one a little. They spend most of their time on opposite sides of the aquascape so they can’t see each other.

I have 3 in a 45gallons cube for 4 months now.
Nothing special happen.
