What’s your experience with these fish? what do they eat? Do they nip at starfish because I just lost a red thorny starfish to a queen angel nipping at it.

As with any Cheatodon variety butterflyfish I would say that any invert/coral is at risk.

They have great temperaments, really enjoy them. Inverts may be at risk as mentioned.

beautiful fish. I was thinking of doing a butterfly tank and it was def. on the list. however I went back to a reef.

if you dont have a reef or dont mind risking it with the corals you have I say go for it.
let us know how it goes.

I had a Pakistani in a reef with softies and some SPS. He was fine with inverts. But as they grow, they get a little bossy, and can push other butterflies around. They are very beautiful.

In terms of diet, I never had too much problem: mysis, blackworms, clam and mussel were all favorites.
