I recently got a Biotek par sensor used, download the software and started taking par reading. At the top of the rock work im getting 92 umol and 52 at the bottom. The question I have is there a chart that list the approximate par for different types of coral? I did at one time turn all channels up to 100% and fried my green slimmer.....

What kind of light you running?

You fried a slimmer

The fried thing might not have anything to do with your light.
It might just bleached due to some parameters but of course not knowing your tank history that could be a shot in the dark.

See here for an article with peer-reviewed light requirements for various corals.
Glossary:
Compensation Point: Minimum light requirement.
Saturation Point: Maximum light requirement.
Photo-inhibition: Excessive light.

The real question is amount (PPFD, or PAR) of usable light (PUR.) This is arrived at by multiplying PPFD (PAR) by PUR (in percent.) I'm working on it! Comments welcomed!

Dana you mean, PPFD is photosynthetic photon flux density.
PPFD measures the amount of PAR that actually arrives at the coral, or as a scientist might say: “the number of photosynthetically active photons that fall on a given surface each second.

Yes. PPFD. Hobbyists (myself included) often use the terms PPFD and PAR interchangeably.
