Nice. It would have been an extra $600 for a 225 vs the discount 180, but man, it would have fit our wall so well

Yea, I was quite shocked when my fiancé gave me the thumbs up for this one. It fills the wall quite nicely!

Nice work, ... is it wet yet?! ;)

Thank you! I know, right! It’ll probably be dry for another week or two. Have one more 2 week tour to do starting Monday and I certainly don’t want to go away the day it goes wet. That’s when disasters happen

Check out his previous build where he details his fishroom build- it’s awesome. Great amount of detail and has inspired a number of other builds here

I just want everyone to know he stole my idea on how to hang his lights on the last build

He also followed suit on getting rid of the worst overflow box in the world which the more I look into the more problems I see with it
if anyone has the ghost overflow and wants to upgrade to a silent one me and dubs know the person for you

I have a synergy shadow, and have a little issue with the sound of water coming over the weir. Even if I push the water level in the outer box as high as I comfortable am able, I hear the trickles. The siphon itself is silent, as is the secondary (BA setup).

Mind you, it’s all going to be enclosed in a built in cabinet, so I’m not too bothered.

Would be interested in the solution regardless though, just for my general knowledge base.

Well, it’s a rainy day here in North Jersey which means I can continue to let my back rest and get some of the small things done.

I started thinking about electrical needs and decided to start at the stand. I do want to mention that this part is strongly being influenced by Melevs article (http://www.melevsreef.com/tanks/280g-reef-electrical-needs-upgraded) and drummereef’s 180 gallon build (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23569262&postcount=4978)

To the details- I ran a heavy gauge extension chord and spliced separate electrical connections for three low energy items (MP40, MP10 and Battery Backup) and one light on each side of the tank. The center outlet will be connected to an Neptune EB832 and essentially act as a extension chord to the Maxspect Gyre controller. I forgot the 4 gang so I have to run to the hardware store. To finish the left and right side of the tank.

More later today.

Extension from downstairs which will be plugged into a 20 amp circuit. This will power the Vortechs and their batteries. The flow will be controlled via the WXM module.

Here are the individual runs to each outlet and the three wires coming from the basement fishroom which will be connected to the EB832

The weather proof plugs below the tank

What the concept is. Yea, the conduit is crooked. It’s not made permanent yet as I may want to add something.

I also started seeing some rust on my Veraspectra Fuge light. I cleaned it up with a wire brush and prepped for better sealing. More on this later

Ha! It’s his own fault for documenting it so well! Plus, I spent DAYS reading that build!

Lol, yeah. Me too. I have that thing archived to my desktop so I don’t have to waste time firing up a browser to view it...

Look great man.

Im currently switching out 165 gallons to get my nitrates way down...

Agh. I’m dreading this part! Speaking of archiving, I did that with your fishless cycle!
