Sorry if this has been stated before but I couldn’t find my exact question with the search function so here goes.

Upgrading my existing stock Red Sea max 130d lights (2x 55w 50/50 10,000K & Actinic T5 Power compact lamps) to reefbreeders 16 V2* photons (https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/photon-16-v2/)

Per the website it says to start at 30 percent intensity but reading online some places say start way lower. I’m afraid I’m going to fry my coral if I start at 30.

Also. I have my sps basically a couple inches from the water surface. I’m assuming this is going to be too high and I should probably move them or do you think they will be fine. Personally I’d rather keep them where they are as they are growing well just not getting the coloration I’d like.

Here’s an older photo but roughy shows where my corals are located.

Thanks.

Do you have access to a par or lux meter ?

A 30-40% reduction should be safe.
