Hey guys I got 2 clown fish, and they were both labeled as ocellaris, but when checking out they said that the darker orange one might be a percula. Can anyone help confirm and id these fish?

What advantage does percula have over ocellaris? They look very similar, why some people are after true percula?

Hard to tell from the picture but looks like ocellaris to me. The easiest way to tell them apart as far as I know is to look at the color of the eye. Percula have a lot more orange around the pupil.

I heard they're really similar. I just want to know for the sake of knowing my fish lol. Some people say ocellaris are hardier than percula, and percula might be a tad bigger than ocellaris though. No idea if that's 100% true.

I’d say a juvenile Percula.
11-12 dorsal spines is occelaris whereas 9-10 dorsal spines is Percula. Yours has what appears to be 9 dorsal spines.
I could be wrong with that however I do remember it being something like that.
