Lol,
I actually spotted 2 aptasia yesterday, U think the CBB can't access the foot of the aptasia, so they recluse when it's close by. No worries, but otherwise, it's nice to see those ugly pests being harassed, lol :)

Yep, it's good they know who's Boss! :) I had a couple underneath some rock work that he couldn't get too. I added an aiptasia eating filefish and he can get into those areas and take them out.

I see your response to Alex about eating flakes. It took a little while for mine to eat flakes. They are very finicky eaters until they get over it. Once you really get them eating then they will go after most food other fish eat. Mine wouldn't touch anything I gave it except for Masstick and also Blackworms. They are obsessed with Blackworms. My LFS sells live Blackworms and I started it eating off that. It used to come right up to the turkey baster to eat them out. Then I switched to freezedried blackworm cubes. You can get these off Amazon and all the fish including the CBB go for these. Eventually he started eating flakes and hasn't looked back.

Gonna need a bigger tank!

corey

Hi Corey,
I actually decided to pull the trigger on a new setup!
I have always loved cube aquariums, and have been waffling on the Innovative Marine tanks, so I decided that I have a perfect spot for the perfect "Longterm" setup. I will be going with the 112 cube Lagoon, 36x36x20" which will be in a corner, 2 sides viewable. Opted for the sump as well, went external too.

That's awesome. They're nice tanks, Perry. Have fun with the upgrade! That one in particular has very cool dimensions.

Thanks Tyler!
I have lots of planning time, lol. Good news is that I am set with equipment, and all rock and sand will be used, so this should be a simple transfer, of course when the time comes, lol.
In the meantime, I will carefully plan to correct any and all mistakes made from other setups ;)

Just finished your whole post. Good read and lots of changes with results! Helps to show a trend of good ideas leading to your current results. I have been on the fence with a sps dominant aquarium. Might have to go through the scrap in the shop and fire up a 100 gallon project. Impressed with Battle Corals and that would be my first stop in buying sps corals! Thanks for the write up and discussion.

Corey,
I had a 70 gallon Zeovit Cube from Marineland years ago, man I loved that tank so much, it was 30x30x18 I think, maybe 19" tall, but it was a fun tank. I love this shallow design for ease of maintenance, most of all, it's Euro-braced, so hopefully built like a tank, pun intended :)

Hi Lowell,
Thank you for taking the time to sift through the madness, lol :)
I have always pushed the envelope in reefing in pursuit of beautifully colored acros, this system and direction is probably my best effort yet, so in some regards sad to upgrade, but I am thinking I will continue to run this tank regardless.
Battlecorals is definitely a great source for corals, you will not be disappointed, all mine are growing well :)
Thanks for joining in on the fun :)
