My LFS said they were on his list for $400 last week. That’s his price but still a good wholesale price. I didn’t go for it because I honestly like plain old purple tangs better. Maybe when they get down to $200 or so.

She is still there. $420 on 4/20, I think it is meant to be.

Got mine from petco in Middletown NY. Fat and very healthy. Even had it in a tank with 1.025 salinity. Had it for 2 weeks at their shop. Price tag 422 bucks.

The store that I was at, not only had way more fish, than my local Petco... but every fish that I checked the price of, was WAY cheaper than LA prices!
The Brookfield petco is my local petco and they have def stepped up their game the last 2 years in the fish department.

Yes but no two week guarantee

There is a sponsor on this forum who sells gems for $740 or so and does not include a two week guarantee. I would pick up a Gem at Petco provided I see it in person and it is healthy rather than said sponsor. Not knocking them just trying to put it into perspective. Some of the prices listed here are pretty incredible and would be worth it. Just my opinion.

Because it's an excuse to go rip the Corvette down the highway. ;Woot

lol

Even if they don't have the tang, I'm curious to see what one of these expanded assortments looks like.

Sounds a bit like me. My better half said hey, why don't we go to one of the local casino's and have a nice dinner, dance, etc. I'm like how about we pack for a weekend and drive to Vegas instead. Of course I was thinking she would say no, she didn't, 30 minutes later hopped into the Mustang and 10 hours later spent the weekend in Vegas. Return trip took a detour to LA to spend two days in Disneyland, then returned home :)

Any excuse is about right :D

Pretty much! lol. I drove down there today, actually.... They definitely have a lot more stuff than every other Petco, and a frag tank. No Gems though, so boo! I talked to the specialist that does the ordering, she said they got two around the time this thread started up, but they were gone in about five minutes. She'll look into ordering one in, but couldn't make any promises. We shall see, I suppose.

How is everyone getting the 30% off sale? My local petcos only had the sale for last weekend. Someone earlier reported the sale was all month. Is that true?

I’ve been seeing lots of them for sale in different forums over the last 2 months. Not sure why? They were very rare when I first got into the hobby.

They were rare in the hobby but not in the ocean. Now they are just being collected in more locations than they used to be. I won’t be surprised if they are only around two hundred dollars within a year or two.
