Tsa corals went in last night. A few, like my Rasta’s are having a hard time opening up. I’m really excited though for this bubble gum digi.

Added a small rock for isolating my shrooms. Crazy how in one month the rock color changes.

Half way-ish through my Dr Tim’s Dino treatment and already I see a huge difference in the tank as well as the corals. HUGE believer in the recipe. Once I’m done final dose, I’ll glue the frags to the rock and plan for another fish. Debating on what to get next. Currently have two frostbite and two yellow line chromis. Want something yellow.

Nighttime mode on the tank.

You will like the cleanliness of the bare bottom. The only downfall I had with it was once it got covered in coralline it made the tank seem so purple. I tried to scrape it for a while but that became more work than what it was worth. I ended up adding a thin layer of sand.

Had to save that top spot for one sps! Lol it’s an addiction. Looking good.

For now it’s just one bubblegum digi... once the tanks get more established I’ll put a green slimmer on the other side and that’s it!!! Ha.

As for the BB, I love it and I’m actually looking forward to the coraline. Eventually would like to fill majority of the bottom with shrooms and other bottom style corals.

New corals are in, replacement reef bulb came early so far so good. The torch has the cleanest base I have ever seen, all white! It is however struggling though, one of the heads are completely sucked in. Will keep an eye on it.

Looking really good. Is that a Hollywood stunner in that last coral haul? If so mine grew really fast, in fact it’s my avatar pic. The middle section of it was about the size of a dinner plate when I removed it. It has really long feeders at night and killed everything around it in my tank. That’s why I ended up removing and trading to my lfs. Make sure you give it space.

Wow, great build! How is the jebao return pump working out for you? Do you feel like the flow is sufficient?
I am putting together a similar setup and have been leaning towards jebao for the return pump. Any info helps. Thanks.

It is a Hollywood... picked it up a little while back ago from Aqua SD.

It's on the back glass sitting of a magnetic Reef Rack. If it gets out of hand, I can always clip it or move it around ;)

Thanks for the heads up though.

Same tank, new house. After a couple of months in storage, my 40g cube is in the new house. If you'd like to see the old thread, it's here.

Plans for 2.0... I really like the corner style placement of this tank, I had it placed similar in the old house so I'm doing the same here. I plan on building a toy chest/cabinet for my daughter next to it so this works out best. An electrical outlet is conveniently located behind the tank so win win.

First order of business has already begun, scrubbing everything down with 100% vinegar. Then it's on to curing rock and leak testing everything with tap water.

I learned a lot from version 1 so I'll be applying that here. Quarantine, flow and rock placement are a few lessons learned! Bare bottom and rocks epoxied/cemented together. I'll be going for a central rock tower formation.

Small number of fish and LPS will live in this bad boy. Version 1 had gobbled up too much money and heartache with SPS for me.

As before, progress will be documented here so stay tuned!

Thanks!

It's going strong. Only took it out once to give it a citric acid wash. For the money, can't beat it.

If you get it, let it break in for about 2 weeks. It'll be noisy but will go away. Good luck.

Been a while since I updated this thread. Tanks had some ups and downs, mostly downs... Nitrates, coral and fish loss, GHA...

Been a strong month of cleaning and chemical clean ups along with recent addition of sand, the tank seems to be coming back.
