Yesterday I installed a Milwaukee pH monitor and I was pleasantly surprised to see my daytime pH peak out at 8.2. This is w/o the use of a CO2 scrubber, kalkwasser or anything like that. I just rely on ESV 2 part, running a reverse light cycle, opening windows, having a low fish load and the fact that there aren’t many people living in our home. What I didn’t like though was seeing my pH dip to 7.8 at 3 am this morning as told to me by my GF. I imagine it probably dipped even a little lower as the night went on, something I can’t verify at the moment since I’m currently at work (I work graves). Is this swing unacceptable and should I take corrective action? Or would this be considered normal? If this isn’t good, what do you find to be the best method for preventing night time pH dips?
