Ph swings

I run a co2 scrubber and normally get between 8.2-3 but last week I changed the media and it shot up to 8.4 at time and 1 day almost 8.5. I normally have to add water to the bottom every few days to a week whenever I see its not as effective. A few days ago I did that and now it only peaks around 8.24 last 2 days and still drops under 8 at night. What could be the reason it got up to 8.4 for a few days but now won’t even get to 8.3? The media isnt expired usually I switch it out every 3 weeks or so. Going to be adding a fuge soon just haven’t had need yet. Thanks for help

Lots of things can impact pH based on changes in the home CO2 level. I wouldn’t spend much time trying to figure out such things since all those values are fine.
