Hi Randy, I just read your article- PH And The Reef Aquarium. Very nice article. Thank you. My PH stays right at 8.0 according to Salifert test kits. There has been a few times that it looked like it might have dropped to 7.9 but its hard to distinguish using the color chart. I would like to raise it to 8.1 or 8.2. I started running outside air to my skimmer but didn't see any change in the PH. Right now I only have 10 small frags in the system so dosing Lime water would increase the ALk and Calcium faster than the corals can consume at this point. I have a refugium but currently am not using it because my Phosphates have been steady around .03 and I was afraid it might drop too low. Should I just leave it alone ? Trying to find a way without opening the windows. Thank you.

Outside air (or even scrubbed air) fights against tank top aeration if the room has high CO2. For that reason, different folks see different degrees of benefit from using those methods.
