seemed to have helped mine, though that is not the reason I added phosguard, it was for the PO4 reduction.

Rodi may not remove all silicates, you can get a reading of 0 and still have silicate in the water, as said above they are not as scary as they sound, they are a very natural part of the reef.
My phosphate is already
he might have loads already!
i have 1ppm nitrates and 0.03 phosphates. I am dosing nitrates!

Yes it all gets converted to nitrate, but if you start out with live rock, a few fish and corals and much patience you can balance the output.
Yes!! Nitrates don’t have to be a problem with new tanks. Unless your ammonia level is super high (which can be controlled). I dosed ammonia very conservatively as I didn’t want a huge nitrate spike.

my tank is 2 months old at this point
