Wow, I guess I need to rethink my whole life's work. I'll be sure to ask the companies that made billions of dollars off my phosphate binders to refund the patients who used them, and ask those patients to stop using them and risk death, because the whole thing is a scam. lol

It would be if true. But I'm not too worried about it being so.

I spent many years working on phosphate binders. The resulting products (Renagel (sevelamer hydrochloride) and Renvela (sevelamer carbonate) are widely used by kidney disease patients around the world to treat hyperphosphatemia.

At one point (maybe now too) Renvela was the single largest volume (by weight) prescription pharmaceutical in the world, and at its peak before generics came on line, sold more than a billions dollars worth per year. Now sales are split over many companies.
