Hi All,

Having trouble keeping phosphate above zero,
Backstory is my tank took a long time for nitrates to come down and ended up carbon dosing (7mL vodka) to bring it down. Once nitrates where below 10, I reduced carbon dosing and have ceased a few days ago. I am looking for some tips to keep it up, I have decreased the flow into the reef mat so some goes down the overflow - not sure if this is the right thing to do?

I've been feeding 1 cube brine shrimp daily + 1 teaspoon reef roids 2-3 times per week.
Phosphates peak up to 0.05 then after a day of 2 go back to zero and the algae increases - ? dinos or diatoms.
I feed reef Roids last night, and the phosphate was zero this morning and significant increase in algae on sand, glass and rocks.

Tank is 200gal,
redsea 900 skimmer,
redsea reef matt
UV
2x Redsea wave 45's
ATI essessntals pro
5x fish.

Current parameters:
ALK 8.5
Ca 420
Mg 1440
Salinity 1.026
Temp 77f
Nitrate 1.9
Phosphate 0.00

Thankss

I'd just feed reef roids more frequently. A small amount daily, even with 0 phosphate, should be enough to supplement phosphate.
