Not sure if it is a coincidence, but I recently updated from the Nexus app to the new Reef Breeders after receiving an e-mail stating the old app is being shut down. At first, I noticed the moon lighting was only activated on one half of the Photon V2. But now I realize that the cool blue and violet channels are not adjusting to the power setting (using 90%) and are very dim when on. When I try to change the output with the app the LED's don't seem to change. All the other colors are working fine.

Is this is a light failure or did the app do something? I reached out to the support contact at Reef Breeders but have not heard back yet.

Thank you again for reaching out and it was great to speak with you over the phone this afternoon, and I appreciate you following up while we worked through this.

As we discussed, the issue with the cool blue and violet channels was ultimately due to a hardware fault in the light that had gone unnoticed until the recent app migration. This kind of situation is not uncommon when a light is left on autopilot for extended periods, small issues can remain hidden until a change like switching apps causes you to take a closer look.

Just to clarify, the new Reef Breeders app does not alter the physical operation of your light. It does not reconfigure or change how the LED channels function internally. The app only adjusts settings at the software level. It cannot impact the hardware in any way.

I’m glad we were able to identify the problem and get it resolved together. Thank you again for your patience and continued support. If anything else comes up, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for the chat, made sense what may be happening on the older Photon V2. Decided to upgrade to the new Meridian 45 since there were many improvements made, and appreciate getting the new light out to me quickly.

Looking forward to trying it out.
