Physically moving/installing 200G Innovative Marine Tank

I' should have at least four people available to help me move my new IM 200G tank. I'm looking for a review from those who have done it before. I have purchased 4 sets of 8" suction cups that say they're good for 440lbs each. My thought is if one suction cup were to fail for one person, they'd still have the other to shift both hands too. Essentially, we'll have 4 people, two on each long side and maybe some help on each end, at least for a brief time. The tank is going in wall between two rooms so should just lift it into place, sit one end on the stand, then have those two people go to the other side to assist with sliding the tank. One question, if I purchased on of the lift carts to rest it on prior to the lift onto the stand, will the tank be okay if the lift doesnt support the entire base of the tank? I'll be glad when this part is done!! Thank You for any feedback.

You can definitely put the tank on a lift cart and have parts of it hanging off the edge. The biggest thing to worry about is if it is balanced and will roll unhindered. One wheel getting stuck on something could topple everything over if there's enough momentum.

You can also get furniture dollys and space them evenly under the tank and roll it to the next destination so you all don't have to carry it the entire way.

I would still have someone on every side of the tank with their hands on the suction cup handles guiding the tank through the house.

Biggest thing to remember: Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast.

Thought I'd wrap this thread up. While friends and family assured me "it wasn't that heavy" when it was all said and done we ended up with 6 adult males and were able to place the tank. About 5 feet in one of the guys bumped the suction release and his suction cup came loose. With 4 people, that corner would have most likely hit the ground, but with 6, we were able to hold on, but it was quite the jolt. I bought a 1000lb lift cart and I'm glad I did. Several older men in the group were like "ahh, we wont need to sit it on that, we can just lift it straight up". Let me tell you, the cart lifted it within about 7 inches of where it needed to be. It was everything we had to bring it up those 7 inches and onto the stand, so the lift cart was worth it. Between the cart and suction cups it essentially cost me about 4-500.00 to move and install the tank. Suction cups I used (4 sets) Suction Cups and the Lift Cart .

Good to hear it all worked out! Now you get to do the less stressful/more fun part of setting it all up and watching it grow!

Yeah those things are HEAVY!!!
