I use less than 1/4 and the is for 7 fish in 2 tanks, but I also feed twice a day
I only feed once every other day also I know people say not to do it but I also read up on it to feed the anemone do it with a baster or tongs I did it with tongs and she grabbed it with her tentacles and ate the whole thing that's cool to watch how they do it.

Go slow. If I had to guess you are over feeding. I don’t feed nems at all though
Go slow with what? I am trying to get more stuff for my tank/nem nd fish so I have a healthy tank my nem loves being fed with tongs nd I feed every other day 1 time every other day

If you overfeed the tank, nitrates go up, and you will be creating more to combat. Overfeeding is easy to do, because people want to see their fish eat etc, but they will be fine eating less..... you want that feeding time to be pretty chaotic, a “frenzy” if you will.

As far as the anemone, it’s what is best for its survival. It will keep eating if you keep feeding it, but again, I haven’t feed my anemone ever, and it wasn’t feed at the store, and it’s doing great, and I am not adding unnecessary pollutants to the water, so I would suggest at least slowing down on the feeding.

Good luck, and welcome to the hobby!

That’s algae starting and that is a result of not being enough bacteria yet for the amount of livestock or you are running your light for too long

Should I stir up the sand a little bit on the bottom?
I wouldn’t. But I would look into adding to your clean up crew. Two nassarius snails for your sand, 8 trochus snails, 1 turbo snail for rock & glass.
