Hello everyone, I have a quick question. I’ve been told by AI and a few other people I know that a pink streaked Wrasse is an amazing fish that will eat pests from ZOA’s as well as being a great addition to a nano tank, which I currently have…..
(that’ll change soon. Don’t tell the wife)

Anyway, my question is has anyone on this forum please I need feedback had this fish had luck with this fish or has everyone that purchased this Fish has it died?

I watched a few videos and I’m told by a few credible reef stores that this Fisch is the most stressed out anxiety written dead in 30 minutes after you buy it Fisch which also by the way cost about $150 and I just don’t want to go through that or do I want to lose the money but more importantly, I don’t want to buy a fish that’s gonna die

Your information would be greatly appreciated, please thank you

Haven't owned this personally (it's been on my short list though), but I've never heard that it was particularly death prone.

i own a pink streaked wrasse. absolutely no issues. he was incredibly shy when added and disappeared for a week.

now he’s incredibly active. loves pellets and occasional mysis shrimp. zero damage to any coral. easily my favorite fish in the tank.

I have one in a 3’ tank. It been w me for over 3 years.

The Pink streak are super skittish fish however I seen mine stand up to a royal gramma which for me was surprising to watch.

I have one and it’s been wonderful. Mine mostly just hunts pods all day so make sure you have a good population. I bought mine from @Affordable Aquaria by @Dr. Reef and I highly recommend them. He sent an extra at no cost because they don’t ship well (and so thankful because one didn’t make the trip). Other than that it’s been a joy!

I've heard way more issues with something like a Six-Line over a Pink Streak

Same here. Got my lil guy in July, still cruising.

My favorite fish

Pink streak is a great fish. I got one from Blue Zoo over a year ago. Zero issues in QT or when adding to the tank. Peaceful and colorful. I have him with a yellow wrasse, a flame tail blenny, and a clown, and they all get along together. It's a secretive species so it will stay in the rocks most of day but it will become bolder as it gets more settled. I never see any pods in the DT (plenty in the back), and I suspect he's the reason. I did have an issue with him starting a couple of weeks ago. He started displaying textbook symptoms of UWND (even though that's not normally associated with this species). He was swimming tail down and was struggling to get food. Then the other day he darted out of the rocks and grabbed food like nothing was ever wrong. Make of that what you will!

These are some of my favorite fish. I had 2 in my display and 1 in my frag tank for years. They are super shy when you first ad them. I didnt see 1 for 2 months. Great little personalities and only ever got aggressive when I had tried a trio of them in the display.

they are nothing like a 6 line or anything.

I agree with most of the above. In my experience with them, they start out a bit more shy and cryptic than most other wrasses varieties. Usually that goes by the wayside when they realize they'd better get in the mix and get their meals! I've never seen any aggressive behavior, misconduct towards corals, or anything else that would make it a nuisance.

If it's a pest and doesn't belong in your tank, chances are he'll wipe it out.

As far as hardness goes, I've seen these guys make it through some pretty tough situations in my tanks over the years.

Plus, I mean look at that face!

I've had a school of 3 before for a few months. Honestly, they're basically an overall better version of the 6-line wrasse. Much much less aggressive and great model citizens. I honestly don't know why these aren't more popular
100% agreed. The pop of pink they add to the tank, especially at that size is very nice and unique.

Oooh. Definitely going that way when I get a bigger tank.

They tend to be fairly sturdy once established.

Shipping a fish is always stressful, and it's true that these little guys don't tolerate stress very well, but I would say they're definitely better than most wrasses. If you can have an LFS order one and quarantine or condition it, that might be better than shipping one in yourself.

The biggest thing with these wrasses that will drive success IMO is peaceful tankmates. If any of your fish are prone to bullying slower/smaller/gentler fish, I would reconsider getting a pink streak. They have very little if any fight in them and like I said earlier they don't tolerate stress very well.

I ordered mine from Blue Zoo Aquatics about two months ago. It came in at half an inch long but overall very healthy looking. I've been feeding it a mix of frozen baby brine shrimp, chopped mysis, and cyclops (copepods). It's too small right now to eat the TDO pellets I feed the rest of the tank (yellow watchman Gobies, purple firefish, Tailspot blenny), but it does pick at them and I think get something off of them as they soften a bit in the water. It's grown quite a bit since then and is now around an inch long and a very active member of the tank.
