My gate valve has a female connection that is 3 cm deep, however, I only have 2cm of material on the pipe that would go in that connection. If primed and glued, would that cause any flow issues?

Not appreciably… chamfering the ID of the 2cm segment will further reduce any turbulence at high flow rates!

The bigger concern is getting a good seal without fully seating the pipe in the tapered socket… be liberal with your glue, but not so liberal that you glue the gate valve shut!

Thanks guys. I just took another measurement, appears the delta is 5mm and not 1 cm. The dry fit is relatively snug, so it should glue up well.
