Hello. I am wondering if anyone has use plastic mesh (for needlepoint) to make a diy acclimation box and then holding it to your aquarium with a magnetic algae scraper?

I’m having a hard time justifying paying over $100 for acrylic ones that I would only use briefly/temporarily and trying to find a cheap alternative. Thanks.

I would recommend that you make one out of egg crate. I did lashing pieces together with Zip ties and a pool noodle for buoyancy.

Might work but the fish inside and outside will not really be able see each other very well. I used a $15.00 reptile carrier from PetSmart and heated a piece of metal tubing to put holes in it. I rigged up fishing line and a section of PVC to suspend it but I like @Dom pool noodle tip and will use that next time.

That’s an interesting idea, never thought about a pool noodle.

I was thinking about using one of these but I was worried it would crack if I drilled it. Guess melting holes is an option. Thanks for the idea.
