Can hermits damage plate coral?

The small reef-safe types we use as CUC, not really. They can go after food that is on the plate of part way in the mouth, but that's more of an annoyance to the coral than anything else. If I find my hermits are being a bit obstreperous, I feed them first so they are too busy, and then too full, to annoy the corals.

Some of the larger non-reef safe hermits...that's a possibility.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
