I have not tried removing Apstasia using any means. That was the advice given me by @Subsea. Turned out that I had the good kind of Apstasia.
The "good" kind of Aiptasia, huh? The only good Aiptasia is a dead Aiptasia :)

@vlangel said this about my Apstasia.
That is not a regular aiptasia although it is related. It is a corkscrew/ curlique anemone and they do not multiply like aiptasia. They will form a symbiotic relation with pistol shrimp. They can grow fairly large if fed a lot of food.

Save your money and try using lemon juice. But first, if there's only one, I would do the rock remove and annihilation as described in another post, then super glue over it. If you see more pop up, try lemon juice.

Yes aptasia but it is isolated. Here is a sure remedy and stress free to you and does work:

Get yourself a syringe ( walmart and walgreens pharmacies sells them). Use either Lemon juice OR Kalwasser powder and mix with water into a paste type mix and inject into core of the aptasia. The aptasia will melt right away

get a small bore needle and syringe. lemon juice is free (if you have it stocked in your fridge, like I do). It worked for me. Be aggressive and really get em good when you inject. they retract up into the rock extremely fast. My require a couple tries, but eventually, it will work. I used to have a few, but haven't seen any in several years. make sure to rinse the needle with fresh water when done so it will last longer.

Sure looks like aiptasia to me.

I've all but convinced myself that Aiptasia X is nothing more than a slurry of calcium hydroxide in water with a little coloring thrown in to the disguise the formula. I made a calcium hydroxide slurry in water after numerous attempts to use Aiptasia X, and lo an behold, it behaves exactly the same way! :)

Also, be prepared to apply the paste or Aiptasia X more than once as the anemones get knocked down, but they get back up unless you hit them again and again. Just my two cents.

If it were me, I'd get that rock out of your display tank immediately. It's not worth chancing that spreading.

If you really want to save the GSP, put the rock in a bucket with a heater and do the eradication methods suggested above in there.
