Please help, led replacement.

I want to change some led's on my sanrise r60 but replacements are no where to be found.

This is what the led and boards look like. The led itself is alot smaller than the bridelux I've used on black boxes in the past. I'm wondering if I can just remove the diode, then solder a star with led in place and run a small wire to the connections? Or does anyone know where I can find some like this?

I have numerous time and no bam. The only ones I find are not the same.

Without measurements on hand, they look like standard 3535 sized LEDs. Is it made up of lots of boards like this?

Cree XP footprint is 3535 compatible if you can hot air or otherwise reflow them off.

I'll get some measurements later today hopefully. It is made up of several of these in groups of 3. The idea was it would be easy to just take the screw out and swap in a new one, but not having access to new ones defeats the purpose.


I just looked at an ad for one of these lights and they are advertised as Cree led's. So that helps.

I did but those are different for some reason, more of an L shape.

They probably have just 1 photo for everything. A lot of web sites are that way. Write them and see if it’s a match.

Unfortunately, they are all shaped like the one on their sight picture. I guess it was the 1st version of the R60 before they used these straight ones.

I'm wondering, since the connection for the led is at the end of the board and pushed into a connector, could I get away with making some boards out of acrylic just for a secure mount then adhere new diodes and boards to the acrylic and solder the same type connectors on? I wouldn't be chancing messing up the stock boards that way and I could always put the stock ones back in if I decided to sell the unit.
I would just need to match the wattage right? The whites are all 5w cree diodes. @theatrus @Backreefing

Your the one seeing it . if it were me I’d solder a new LED onto the old board it’s risky but...... don’t forget a heat sink while you solder and be fast , maybe even a damp towel to cool it . These things melt easy being plastic.
But be certain that is what is wrong with the board . Good luck to you

There isn't anything wrong with this one, was just wanting to change my layout. I did however change one of my t5's a minute ago and think I may be right where I want to be so I'm likely not going to mess with changing any leds now. Thanks for the replies though.

If I were to try and change the leds on these stock boards, would solder paste work better? Just heat and remove these leds then add the paste and led and reheat? It seems too small for an iron.

Get someone who repairs electric equipment. They will have the iron, solder remover and heat sinks and paste .
Ok nothing wrong then roll with it .
