I've had a pair of clowns for at least three years today the female rapidly swam around hitting everything and now is laying down on the ground like she is dead I have no clue what happened to her or why she did this

My poor male is swimming out of the coral looking around everywhere for her

Testing everything right now

It was like she had a heart attack I don't understand [emoji24]

Alkalinity 8.064 ammonia zero nitrate five mag 1320 calcium 410 salinity 1.25

Everything I tested comes up perfect he must have died from natural causes don't know why he had a panic attack and then passed away[emoji24]

Yeah I don't understand it I just got done putting 2 frags in and five minutes later she had a panic attack and doesn't look like she's coming back my other clown keeps nudging her[emoji20]

Yes, I would just get a small clown.

I agree. I've done this several times without a problem. Just make sure the new clown is smaller than the one you have.

Does it matter if it's a different type of clown like a snowflake

Sorry about your clown. And It doesn't matter as long as it is another ocellaris and like they said smaller. Your male will turn female and they'll be fine.

Just to be sure her passing wasn't disease related ... Have you introduced any new livestock into your tank recently? If so, was it QT'd?

Did the deceased or does the surviving clown have any white spots/smudges on the skin? I'm sorry for your loss. :sad:
