Plumbing Modular marine overflow?

Wait maybe I’m misunderstanding you guys. Are you saying that the elbow that reduces noise is the one on the open channel? Or on the siphon drain? In my pic above my siphon is just bulkhead and my open channel is the tee and elbow

Elbow on the secondary drain (trickle flow)

I don’t let my secondary have a trickle, I have the water right up to the edge with no trickle. You can say i have 2 emergency drains
I thought that was the point/goal of a bean animal system...? Just like a Herbie - one full siphon - but with an extra emergency drain. No?
