So I will be plumbing my reef tank here shortly and was wondering.
Can I use purple primer, as I was unable to find the clear one. I will be painting the pvc afterwards anyways.
How should I attach the pvc to Abs bulkhead. I heard you don’t use primer, but do I use the same heavy duty cement as the one I use to attach the pvc together?

Thanks a lot

You can use a threaded abs and threaded pvc. Purple primer works but won’t paint over as easy

Although not spefically for transitions, the oatley general purpose cement in the red can is for pvc or abs. This is what i used to glue pvc into the abs slip bulkheads on my eshoppes HOB overflow. Dont use primer on abs. It worked out fine. No leaks.
