I've got 8 clams currently, I need to get some updated shots though. I'll try tonight and post them then.

Got one. But hate how you can't see the beauty of them from the side. May do a look down tank in the future.

My clam

I used to keep 13 clams in a 65g haha. I had maximas, deresas, croceas and squamosa clams. My fav out of all are now prob the smallest maxima clams from the coco islands. Here is one i recently purchased

I have one derasa now. I've had 3 clams at once but always end up trading them to make more room for coral. I'll never get rid of my derasa though.

Now that I no longer have a emperor angel I'm gonna be picking up some in the future. Gonna have to try the new hybrid too.

I've tried maximas twice and they never lasted more than a month. Could never find out what killed them. I'll try again in 6 months after I have the 180g up and running if all goes well. I really love them!

I've got two French Polynesian maximas in my frag tank. One is pretty big, the other a bit smaller. Clams are one of my favorite reef dwellers, but many people get them, and are not aware of what it takes to keep them happy and healthy.

Dont have a clam yet but have plenty of room for one on the sandbed. I feel the tank is to new to get one right now.

My maxima when I first got it about a month ago. Need to get an updated pic because he opens a lot more now and is looking awesome.

I've not kept a clam ever although I've always loved how beautiful they are....I've always been intimidated by their price (for a decent sized one) and their propensity to use a lot of calcium. I also have a coral beauty and am worried that it might pick at a clam.

id love to have a nice clam ...but the choices in the northern panhandle of florida for LFS's with any selection is dismal ...and for me I really want to be able to see a clam in person before purchasing... I had a tridacna gigas about 10 years ago and loved it more than any maxima... they seem to be a bit rarer these days.

No. I tried but they kept dying, after 4 of them I gave up. I also really wanted a butterfly fish.
