After losing 6 of them last year, I decided to start keeping clams again. I recently got 4 tiny 1" maximas and then my husband bought me a large turquoise maxima for Mom's day. They're hard to get a good pic of because they're in the wall tank, but here they are...

I'm too new at this. I don't have the confidence to get one yet but want to someday. I will have to do a lot of reading about their food and care requirements before I jump in.

I would love to have one! But in my homeland they are way too expensive... I am working a lot to give a gorgeous Tridacna a good home hehehe

Here is mine, i think it is a Derasa.
Its about 9ish inches long, had it since jt was about 3 inches for about 6 years.
Is a surviver, it has survided 1 tank crash, 2 tank moves and the upgrade from a 60g to a 150g
Also, it doesnt have a foot, so i can move it around and place it werever i want, wich is nice.
Makes my reactor media last so little, lol

No I don't have any clams. Tank is too new. But when my tank grows up I do plan on getting quite a few. I really like clams. My reason for getting the wider 40B as opposed to my old 55G. More room for clams and coral. :)

I have 2 a blue and a gold but can't find a pic of the blue. The blue one is one of the little ORA clams I've had it for around a year and a half and it's at least 3 times the size it was when I got it.

I have 2 clams in my 180g a blue maxima I have had for about 4 years and a "gold" maxima I just got a couple months ago

in my 40g sps tank, I took most of the sand out so I can have a couple couple clams without them starving

Planning on it, just want to make sure the pyramid snails starve off first. Not sure which species yet...

I have a derasa, 2 indo/pacific maxima, a gorgeous french poly maxima, and a red sea maxima. At one point I had 11 clams, and then a bobbit worm got them.
