love clams!!

had this one (crocea) for about a year and a half now:


had this one (maxima) for probably 3 months :( until it kicked the bucket one day for no apparent reason:

No, do not know if I will get one or not, I have always heard bad things happen when spawning events occur, and it scared me away from them a bit

I don't have any clams but have always wanted one but never had good enough lighting for one till now I think. Running led lights. But still leary because I hear about some of the really bad hitchhikers that come on them and kill them and you can't dip clams to get ride of unwanted pest.

i have three derasa clams rigt now and thinking about getting another from a local reefer its around a foot long,just trying to figure out where i could put it.

I have 4. 11"dersa. 9"Squamosa. 6" crocea and a 4"maxima Sorry for the bad pics. I have tried using no blue so things dont look so washed out. couple pics of each

I have an SLR and macro but dont know how to use it yet. When i do I will take some better pics

I've got two, a Derasa and a Maxima. I plan on getting more as I think they are some of the coolest things you can put in your tank.

I have my crocea clam on a rock that is a slight dish shape so it can't fall off. It attached to this rock so I can move it around when necessary. I believe Maxima's also like to be on rocks but you should make sure the clam you choose won't outgrow your rock or be pushed shut.

Got me a new clam after my last one was killed by an angle fish. New one os located in my smaller tank now and nice and healthy[
